The Choice: LOVE _ IDENTITY is a 10-minute documentary about how an Armenian woman, who married outside her community, managed to preserve her Armenian identity, culture, traditions, and roots.

Armenians are a minority because of the Armenian Genocide that took place in 1915, which led to the formation of the Armenian Diaspora. Since the majority of Armenians live in the diaspora, it is easier for the identity to be lost, which is why they are demanding in preserving their culture, and one way to do so is by marrying within their community.

This personal documentary takes a close look at Arin's and Jamil's marriage; the challenges they faced, such as the families coming to accept this union; the wedding ceremony they had in comparison to other pure Armenian wedding ceremonies; and finally how they are raising their daughter Marie to speak 3 languages and be the bridge between both cultures.

Viewers will hear from the couple, the bride's other, father, and sister in this short film, and they will see the transformation of their attitude towards cross-cultural marriages. The audience will feel their pride in how the little one is preserving the Armenian identity and the family's gradual acceptance of cross-cultural marriages.

The title of the documentary demonstrates that an identity can be preserved in an intercultural marriage. The title shows that there is a gap that can be bridged if the couple is mature and understanding enough of each other's cultures.
