To Our Fallen Soldiers

Interactive media Installation

This project consists of a Panoramic drawing and an Interactive Media Installation that discuss the Artsakh War 2020 and is dedicated to the Armenian soldiers who gave up their lives trying to protect their lands.

Visuals:

The Panoramic Drawing takes place in Northern Avenue, Yerevan, Armenia, where a grieving grandma stands in front of her grandson soldier who passed away, seen as a spirit. Surrounding them are a booth for donations, TV news about the war, a group of protesters demanding peace for Artsakh and the Armenian soldiers, and an actual memorial, all of which are dedicated to the fallen soldiers. The use of dark colors for the sky emphasized the sad and gloomy emotions of the Armenians.

Sound:

The background music added is one close to every Armenian's heart. The addition of newsmen talking about the war and the soldiers were added to provide more information to the viewers about the war. Armenian and English orations were included for the sounds to address both Armenians and non-Armenians.

Interactive Media Installation:

An actual memorial was made to correspond to the Panoramic drawing which is a memorial to the fallen Armenian soldiers. The installation includes pictures of the soldiers, hand-written letters to the soldiers, flowers, and candles. To navigate the panorama, viewers have the option to choose a candle and place it on the sides of the cross.
