Onomatopoeia

Motion Graphics

"Onomatopoeia is a literary device that uses the letter sounds of a word to imitate the natural sound emitted from an object or action".

This project's aim was to pick a piece of 15-second music and conduct a translation of the sound and its properties into visual content. In the motion design, the process of matching formal sound properties to properties of a visual structure in a time-based environment can be seen. The connections of the rhythm, beat, and tempo between the sound and visuals using shapes and type are evident in the motion design by also taking into consideration their placements, movements, and colors.
